Terms of use

Last updated 9 October 2026

Plain-English rules.

In short

  • Check every result. This is not financial or tax advice.
  • Paddle sells plans and credits.
  • Credits are not money.
  • Cancel any time. It ends when the period ends.
  • Your legal rights stay.

1. Who we are

Pennyproof is run by Evrim Mete Öztürk, an individual sole trader based in Türkiye, trading as Pennyproof. Our address is Bilkent University, Dormitory 76, Bilkent, 06800 Çankaya, Ankara, Türkiye. You can write to us at support@evrimmete.com.

In these terms, "we", "us" and "Pennyproof" mean that sole trader. "You" means the person using the service.

2. What the service does

Pennyproof reads a bank statement file (PDF, CSV or Excel, and some other formats listed on the converter page) and turns it into a table you can download as an Excel file. It then checks that the opening balance, plus money in, minus money out, equals the closing balance, to the penny. If it does not add up, it says so and points to the row to look at.

Photo and scan reading is not offered yet. If we add features that need a file to be sent to a third party, they will be opt-in and explained to you before you use them.

3. Using the service

  • You must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian agree to these terms for you.
  • Only use statements you are allowed to use. They should be your own, or belong to a client or employer who has asked you to work on them.
  • Do not resell the service, share one account between many people, use it through scripts or bots, or try to get around plan limits or credit checks.
  • Do not try to break, overload or probe the service.

We may limit or close an account that breaks these rules. If we do this, we will tell you why unless the law stops us.

4. Check the results

Pennyproof is a tool. It is not a bookkeeper, accountant, tax adviser or financial adviser. Nothing it shows is financial, tax or accounting advice.

The balance check reduces mistakes, but it does not remove them. A wrong date, a wrong description or two errors that cancel each other out can still pass. You must look over every file before you use it for accounts, tax returns, loans or anything else that matters.

5. Accounts

An account is optional. The free route works without one. If you make an account, you sign in with a magic link sent to your email, or with Google. Keep your email account safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

You can delete your account from the Account page at any time. See the privacy policy for what we keep.

If you turn on Keep my data in my Google account (Plus), your data is stored in your own Google Drive, under your agreement with Google. Stopping it, ending your plan or deleting your account does not delete those files: delete them from the Google Drive card or in Google Drive. A backup file has no password, so keep it somewhere safe.

6. Plans, prices and payment

The Free, Plus, Pro and Enterprise plans and the one-time credit packs are described on the pricing page. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay, with VAT or sales tax shown as the checkout shows it.

Paddle is our Merchant of Record. Paddle.com is the reseller and seller of record for all orders. Paddle takes your payment, works out and collects VAT or sales tax, sends your invoice, and handles refunds and chargebacks. Your purchase is also covered by the Paddle checkout buyer terms. For invoices, receipts and payment help, go to paddle.net.

We never see your card number.

Subscriptions

  • Plus, Pro and Enterprise are billed monthly or yearly and renew automatically until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time in the billing portal, which you can reach from the Account page.
  • Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep the plan until then.
  • Before a yearly plan renews, we will send you a reminder by email.
  • If we change the price of a plan, the new price applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you first.

Free trial

  • You can start one free trial of Pro, for 7 days. We ask for your card when you start it.
  • Nothing is charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before it ends, Paddle charges your card on the day it ends, at the price of the plan you chose (monthly or yearly), and the plan then renews until you cancel.
  • We show the price before you start, and we email you when the trial starts and again 2 days before it ends, with the amount and the date.
  • You can cancel in one click from the Account page (Manage billing). If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged, and you keep Pro until the trial ends.
  • The trial is for one person: one per email address and one per payment account. A trial does not include team seats.

Credits

  • Credits are page allowances for using the service. They are not money and have no cash value.
  • Credits cannot be transferred to another person or account, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Credits from a purchased credit pack are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
  • Monthly free credits lapse at the end of each month.
  • Before a paid job runs, we show you the exact credit cost. We never take more than that quote.

Fair use on "unlimited" plans

Plus, Pro and Enterprise include unlimited statements, with fair use limits on pages. The limits are 2,000 text pages a month on Plus, 10,000 on Pro, and 25,000, 75,000 or 200,000 on the three Enterprise sizes. They exist to stop resale and abuse. Normal use for your own work and your clients' statements is well inside them. If you go over, we may ask you to move to a bigger plan or pause the extra use. We will not charge you more without asking.

7. Refunds and cancellation rights

Our refund policy is part of these terms. It explains our 14-day refund and your legal cancellation rights.

8. Your files and your data

You keep all rights to your files and to the tables made from them. We do not claim any.

On the free route, your files are read inside your browser. Their contents, amounts and file names are not sent to our servers. The privacy policy has the full detail.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error free. We may change or remove features. If we remove something you have paid for, we will give you a fair refund for the unused part.

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you before it starts. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can stop using the service and cancel.

10. Our responsibility to you

We do not promise that the service will be accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose, beyond what the law requires. See section 4.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that were not a foreseeable result of our breach, for loss of profit, business or data, or for decisions you make using the output without checking it.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

What this does not limit. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law. If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights the law gives you, including that digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and the rules on unfair terms. Some US states do not allow certain limits on implied warranties or on incidental or consequential damages, so some of the limits above may not apply to you.

11. Ending things

You can stop using Pennyproof at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or close an account for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, or to protect the service or other people. If we close an account without a breach on your part, we will refund unused paid time or credits.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Courts there can hear disputes, unless the law of the country where you live gives you the right to use your own courts. This does not take away any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.

If something goes wrong, please write to us first at support@evrimmete.com. We would rather fix it than argue about it.
